The Philadelphia Flyers have officially revealed their 2026-27 NHL schedule, featuring 84 games, an increase from last season. The Flyers' home opener will take place against the Pittsburgh Penguins on September 30, marking one of the first notable dates for fans to circle on their calendars.
This matchup is significant as it will be the first game aired by TNT/HBO Max as part of a doubleheader. Following that, the Flyers will face the Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, on October 3, serving as a benchmark for the team's improvements since last season.
Another highlight includes Claude Giroux’s potential emotional return to Philadelphia when the Senators visit on October 17, which might be his last game in the city if he retires after this season. The Flyers will also play the Anaheim Ducks on October 24, a game of interest due to the recent offer sheet situation involving Leo Carlsson.
Notably, January will be a tough month with 16 games scheduled, including two five-game road trips. The Flyers will conclude their regular season with a challenging stretch, playing seven of their final ten games on the road, primarily against Metropolitan Division rivals.
The schedule features 12 sets of back-to-back games, down from 14 last season, and the team will not participate in any outdoor games or contests in Europe this season. Overall, the schedule presents both challenges and exciting matchups as the Flyers prepare for the upcoming season.
