The Montreal Canadiens have announced their roster for the upcoming 2026 development camp, scheduled from June 30 to July 2 at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard. This year's camp features thirty-seven players, including notable prospects like Michael Hage, Alexander Zharovsky, and 2026 first-round pick Gleb Pugachyov.
The camp will kick off with physical testing on Tuesday, followed by on-ice sessions open to the public on Wednesday and Thursday, where goaltenders will skate first, followed by defensemen and forwards.
Six goaltenders, twelve defensemen, and nineteen forwards are set to participate, with several players on tryouts, including Aleksandr Legkov and Giacomo Martino. Coaches from the Montreal Victoire and former Canadiens player Mike Condon will be present to guide the prospects.
This year's roster may not feature the star power of previous years, but the mix of returning and first-time attendees adds intrigue as young players aim to impress and potentially earn a spot on the main roster.
Fans are particularly eager to see how first-time participants like Hayden Paupanekis and Gleb Pugachyov perform, along with returning players like L.J. Mooney, who previously showcased his skills effectively at past camps.
The Canadiens also announced qualifying offers for eight players, while some will become unrestricted free agents, adding further interest to the team's future prospects. The camp represents a crucial opportunity for these young talents to make their case for inclusion in the Canadiens' plans moving forward.
