Blackhawks to start season in Vegas

The Chicago Blackhawks will begin their 2026-27 NHL season with a challenging road trip, starting against the Vegas Golden Knights on September 29th at 9:30 PM CT. This highly anticipated matchup will be broadcast nationally on ESPN as part of the league's opening night festivities.

Following the game in Vegas, the Blackhawks will travel to Utah to face the Utah Mammoth on October 1st and then head to Buffalo for a matchup against the Buffalo Sabres on October 3rd. The Hawks will finally return to the United Center for their home opener against the St.

Louis Blues on October 6th at 7 PM CT. This initial stretch of four games in eight days will see the Blackhawks compete against three playoff teams from the previous season, making for a tough start to their campaign.

The announcement of the schedule also confirms that the NHL will feature an 84-game season this year, with the complete schedule set to be released soon, according to Yahoo Sports and Second City Hockey.
