Carolina Hurricanes' OHL Development Insights

The Carolina Hurricanes have made significant strides in player development within the Ontario Hockey League, as highlighted in the 2026 OHL In The System series by chl.ca. Key prospects include Ryder Fetterolf, an 18-year-old goaltender for the Ottawa 67s, who was selected in the fourth round, 125th overall, in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Fetterolf has had an impressive rookie season, leading the CHL with a 2.07 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage, while setting a new OHL rookie record with six shutouts, earning him the CHL Goaltender of the Year title.

Another goalie, Zachary Jovanovski, also 18, was picked in the sixth round, 165th overall, and played 52 games for the Guelph Storm, posting a 3.39 goals-against average.
