The Carolina Hurricanes have announced their 2026 preseason schedule, featuring four games, including a home-and-home series against the Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers. The games will take place from September 20 to September 26, with one of the home games hosted at the Coliseum in Greensboro.
Additionally, Carolina has released their Prospects Development Camp schedule, which includes players like Charlie Cerrato, who was drafted in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft. Furthermore, the Hurricanes have signed defenseman Juuso Valimaki to a one-year contract valued at $900,000.
Valimaki, a former first-round pick, brings significant AHL experience after contributing 23 points in 27 games last season. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are reportedly pursuing a trade for Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, making an offer that includes a first-round pick and 24-year-old defenseman Alexander Nikishkin.
This move indicates Carolina's intention to build on their recent success following their Stanley Cup victory. The team is also looking to solidify their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season, signaling a proactive approach to offseason improvements.
