The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins eliminated the Hershey Bears in Game 4 of the AHL playoffs with a 4-1 victory last night, ending the season for the Washington Capitals' AHL affiliate. Harrison Brunicke scored the game-winning goal in the second period while shorthanded, following up on a shot from Gabe Klassen.

Penguins goaltender Sergei Murashov had a standout performance, stopping 36 of 37 shots. The Bears struggled to find their rhythm, despite being desperate to stay in the series. Mikhail Ilyin assisted on a goal by Ville Koivunen, showcasing his creativity and skill.

Ilyin, only 21 years old, has accumulated three playoff points in four games. The Penguins will face the Springfield Thunderbirds in the next round, who recently upset the top-seeded Providence Bruins.

The Penguins have shown significant improvement this season, moving past early playoff exits in the previous two years. Game 1 of the Atlantic Division Final is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th, at home for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
