Thompson debuts unique goalie mask design

Logan Thompson has debuted a Wedding Crashers-themed goalie mask, showcasing characters from the 2005 comedy during practice on Thursday. The design, painted by Dave Fried of Fried Designs, features a mix of Capitals branding alongside iconic characters portrayed by Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, and others.

On the right side, Jeremy Grey and John Beckwith are featured, along with Christopher Walken's William Cleary. The left side includes Bradley Cooper's Sack Lodge and Rachel McAdams' Claire Cleary, while the backplate displays Will Ferrell's Chazz Reinhold and Keir O'Donnell's Todd Cleary.

This mask continues Thompson's trend of local pop-culture references, following a previous design inspired by Mars Attacks!, which also has connections to Washington, D.C. Thompson has previously worn masks that reference Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, National Treasure, and even included imagery honoring the Capitals defense corps and making fun of Tom Wilson.
