The Vancouver Canucks are in the midst of a critical search for a new general manager after parting ways with Patrik Allvin. Among the candidates interviewed is Pierre Dorion, the former GM of the Ottawa Senators, who was in Vancouver last week for discussions, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
Dorion, who served as the Senators' GM from 2016 to 2023, brings a wealth of experience, having made notable draft selections including Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk. Meanwhile, the organization is also preparing for the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft Lottery, with Hall of Famers Daniel and Henrik Sedin set to represent the team.
The Canucks hold a 25.5% chance of securing the first overall pick, an opportunity they have never previously achieved. In addition to these developments, discussions are ongoing around potential free agency targets, including Michael McCarron, as the team looks to enhance its roster amidst a competitive landscape.
