The Vancouver Canucks snapped their seven-game losing streak with a decisive 6-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night. Brock Boeser played a pivotal role, scoring two goals, including the tiebreaker just 2:40 into the third period.
This marked a much-needed win for the Canucks, who entered the game with the worst record in the NHL at 18-36-7, while the Blackhawks, with a record of 23-28-10, struggled to maintain their lead after initially tying the game in the second period.
The victory comes on the heels of the NHL trade deadline, during which the Canucks made significant roster changes, including trading Conor Garland to the Columbus Blue Jackets and David Kampf to the Washington Capitals for draft picks.
Additionally, they claimed Curtis Douglas off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Canucks' recent moves indicate a shift in strategy as they look to rebuild and improve their performance moving forward.
