Canucks prospects Anthony Romani and Matthew Lansing have advanced to the regional finals in the NCAA tournament. Both players represented the Vancouver Canucks in their respective regional brackets, with Romani playing for Michigan State and Lansing for Quinnipiac.
In the Worcester Regional, Michigan State defeated UConn 2-1, aided by an outstanding performance from goaltender Trey Augistine, a Detroit Red Wings prospect. Romani, skating with linemates Ryker Lee and Eric Nilson, recorded two shots on goal but did not score.
He has amassed 27 points through 36 games in his freshman year. Michigan State will face Wisconsin in the regional final. In the Sioux Falls Regional, Quinnipiac secured a 5-2 victory over Providence, with Lansing playing a depth role and not recording a shot on goal.
He has accumulated 18 points in 39 games this season. Quinnipiac will take on North Dakota in the upcoming regional final. Both matches are scheduled for Saturday, March 28, with Michigan vs. Wisconsin at 1:30 PM PT and Quinnipiac vs.
North Dakota at 4:00 PM PT. According to Canucks Army, the performance of Romani and Lansing is crucial for the Canucks as they build a strong foundation through young talent.
