The Vancouver Canucks will not have any representatives at this year's NCAA Frozen Four in Las Vegas, as both Anthony Romani and Matthew Lansing, their prospects, were eliminated from the tournament. Romani and the Michigan State Spartans faced the Wisconsin Badgers in the Worcester region final.
Despite taking a 3-1 lead with just over five minutes remaining, the Spartans allowed two late goals, forcing overtime. Wisconsin then scored just 24 seconds into the extra frame, ending Michigan State's season.
Romani contributed an assist and finished his freshman campaign with 28 points, including 14 goals and 14 assists in 38 games. His future now hangs in the balance as he considers whether to return to Michigan State or pursue a professional career.
Meanwhile, Lansing and the Quinnipiac Bobcats were defeated by North Dakota in the Sioux Falls Regional Final with a decisive 5-0 scoreline. Lansing completed his freshman year with 18 points in 40 games and is expected to return for his sophomore season.
All six Vancouver Canucks NCAA prospects have now concluded their 2025-26 seasons, raising questions about the team's future talent pipeline.
