The Seattle Kraken are currently facing a challenging stretch in their NHL season, with a record of 5-11-2 since the Olympic break, which has seen them fall from a playoff position to the sixth-best odds in the NHL Draft Lottery, according to Sound of Hockey.

Coach Lane Lambert emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, stating that perception of the situation is crucial, as the team is only four points out of a playoff spot with eight games remaining.

Jaden Schwartz echoed this sentiment, highlighting the need to maintain a positive attitude even after a tough loss, and noted that the team must quickly turn the page and focus on upcoming games. A players-only meeting was held following a disappointing 6-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth, where players aimed to address their struggles and reinforce their resolve.

Defenseman Vince Dunn remarked on the tendency for the team to become deflated when they concede goals, emphasizing the need to stay calm, regardless of circumstances. Changes to the power play personnel are anticipated, as Lambert indicated adjustments are necessary after recent struggles in that area.

Schwartz has returned to the lineup after a scary incident where he was kicked in the face, and forward Bobby McMann has made a significant impact since being acquired, scoring eight goals and four assists in ten games since joining Seattle.

The Kraken are set to face the Chicago Blackhawks next, as they look to regain their competitive edge and improve their performance in the remaining games of the season.
