William Eklund is a key player for the San Jose Sharks as they prepare for the NHL season. Eklund, the seventh overall selection in the 2021 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut in the 2021-22 season and had a standout performance in the AHL.
Last season, he played 80 games, scoring 16 goals and 45 points, and became a leader among younger players. This offseason, Eklund was traded to the Ottawa Senators, where he will continue his career. Meanwhile, the Sharks welcomed new defenseman Michael Kesselring, who has an intriguing connection to popular culture as he is the cousin of Love Island USA contestant Kayda Bosse.
Kesselring was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres and signed a three-year contract worth $4.5 million. Additionally, former Sharks forward Andrew Agozzino announced his retirement, reflecting on a career that included playing 53 NHL games and serving as captain of the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda.
The Sharks are also gearing up for their home opener against the Florida Panthers, where new additions like Darnell Nurse and Jacob Trouba will look to set a physical tone against a tough opponent known for their aggressive style of play.
