The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins season came to an end on Sunday, with a 2-1 overtime loss to the Toronto Marlies in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference final at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre. Former Penguins forward Alex Nylander scored the winning goal at 13:44 of overtime, clinching the series for the Marlies, who won the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Forward Aidan McDonough scored the Penguins' only goal in the contest, while goaltender Sergei Murashov stopped 37 of 39 shots, finishing the postseason with an 8-7 record. Notably, defenseman Alex Alexyev returned to the lineup after missing four games due to an undisclosed injury, while defenseman Owen Pickering was scratched due to an undisclosed injury.

Earlier that day, the Penguins recalled defenseman Brent Johnson from Wheeling of the ECHL and signed defenseman Quinn Beauchesne to an amateur tryout contract. The Marlies will now face either the Chicago Wolves or Colorado Eagles in the Calder Cup Final.
