Two Penguins Prospects Assigned to AHL Team

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins received reinforcements as the Pittsburgh Penguins announced the reassignment of goaltender Taylor Gauthier and defenseman Emil Pieniniemi from the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers.

Gauthier had an impressive season with the Nailers, recording a 21-9-5 record and a .929 save percentage, along with a playoff performance of 9-6-2 and a .922 save percentage. Pieniniemi completed his first season with the Nailers, scoring six goals and earning 11 points in 26 games, and contributed significantly in the playoffs with one goal and eight points in 15 games.

The Nailers were recently eliminated by the Florida Everblades in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Penguins are currently looking to tie their Eastern Conference Final series against the Toronto Marlies, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
