The Philadelphia Flyers are hosting a series of community engagement events this summer featuring the team's mascot, Gritty. The Flyers Community Caravan will have five stops across the Philadelphia region, starting on Wednesday, July 29, at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, New Jersey, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Subsequent stops include Cape May on Tuesday, August 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Congress Hall Great Lawn; Mays Landing on Wednesday, August 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mays Landing Ball Hockey; Ocean City on Thursday, August 6, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sport & Civic Center; and Exton on Wednesday, August 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Miller Park.
Each event will include Gritty, Flyers alumni, the Flyers Ice Team, and in-arena host Everett Jackson, along with hockey-themed games and activities. Fans can also receive free Flyers-themed giveaways, including Gritty beach towels, tote bags, visors, koozies, and memo pads.
Certain stops will feature a pop-up shop selling official Flyers merchandise. Additionally, fans can nominate their town to host a future Community Caravan stop until July 17. According to PhillyVoice, this initiative aims to strengthen connections with fans and promote team spirit during the offseason.
