NHL teams are increasingly facing challenges with player criticism online, raising concerns about mental health and the responsibilities of organizations in addressing this issue. In the latest NHL Rumor Roundup from The Hockey News, it was reported that Pittsburgh Penguins forwards Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust are once again surfacing in trade rumors.

Penguins GM Kyle Dubas is not actively trying to move either player, but both are available for the right price, with Rakell carrying a two-year contract at an average annual value of $5 million, and Rust at $5.125 million.

While Rust, who scored 29 goals and had a career-high 65 points last season, is generating more interest, Rakell had a stronger second half after a slow start and an injury. In addition, Kris Letang is reportedly available, but there is currently no interest in the 39-year-old defenseman.

Meanwhile, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse has made a trade request, with the Philadelphia Flyers emerging as a potential destination. Nurse has four years left on his contract valued at an average of $9.25 million.

The situation raises questions about the potential costs of acquiring him and how much salary the Oilers might retain. The report highlights the necessity for NHL teams to prepare players for online criticism and the implications this scrutiny has on their mental well-being.
