Flyers, Rangers, Bruins Shine in Preseason

Joseph Woll, who was acquired by the Flyers this summer, recorded a 28-save shutout, while Michael DiPietro of the Bruins made 26 saves. Matvei Michkov opened the scoring for the Flyers at 4:02 into the first period, with a goal assisted by Porter Martone and Helge Grans.

Cole Knuble added an insurance goal at 2:57 of the third period, capitalizing on a setup from Jacob Gaucher and Jett Luchanko. The Flyers' head coach, Rick Tocchet, highlighted the effectiveness of Michkov and Martone in driving play.

The Bruins, who struggled with a lack of scoring threats and discipline, could not capitalize on power plays and were outshot overall. Meanwhile, the New York Rangers secured their first preseason win, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in a shootout at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers scored three goals in a span of just over six minutes in the third period, with Will Cuylle, Anton Blidh, and Scott Morrow all finding the net. After Amadeus Lombardi tied the game for the Devils late in the third, the game proceeded to a shootout where Cuylle scored the deciding goal.

New Rangers goaltender Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves, showing promise as he competes for the backup position against Dylan Garand. The Rangers' performance showcased a blend of young talent and physical play, which was noted by commentators during the match.
