As the Stanley Cup Final approaches, NHL teams are already strategizing for the upcoming offseason, sparking rumors around potential trades. Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly is reportedly open to considering a trade.

Speculation surged after John Chayka took over as GM, with Rielly's performance declining over the last two seasons. He is signed through 2029-30 at an average annual value of $7.5 million. Chris Johnston from The Athletic indicated that Rielly, who previously was unwilling to waive his no-movement clause, may now be more receptive to the idea.

Possible trade destinations for Rielly include the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Winnipeg Jets, with the latter being appealing to Rielly as a playoff contender. Meanwhile, Anaheim Ducks center Mason McTavish is also a trade candidate due to the Ducks' salary cap situation, with rising stars Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier due for significant contracts.

McTavish, who has a five-year contract worth $7 million annually, may attract interest from teams like the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are specifically seeking to bolster their center position, with reports suggesting they are interested in McTavish as they aim to enhance their roster after a taste of playoff success.

Bruce Garrioch noted that the Ducks are not rushing to move McTavish, but with their projected salary cap pressures, they might need to make strategic moves to accommodate rising costs for young talent.

The offseason looks to be an active one, with teams evaluating their rosters and making moves to better position themselves for future success.
