The Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from their first Stanley Cup title after a 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5, giving them a 3-2 lead in the series. According to The Hockey News, Game 6 will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 14, at 8 p.m.
ET. This marks the first time Carolina has led the final, having previously lost Games 1 and 3 while winning Games 2 and 4. The Golden Knights are considering a goaltending change, with Adin Hill potentially replacing Carter Hart, who has struggled with a GAA of 3.70 and a save percentage of .856.
Jesse Granger of The Athletic highlighted that Hart is the first goaltender in Stanley Cup Final history to allow four or more goals in the first five games. Meanwhile, the NHL offseason is heating up with trade requests, including Darnell Nurse of the Edmonton Oilers, who has requested a trade and provided a list of preferred destinations, as reported by The Hockey News.
As the playoffs continue, the Calder Cup Finals are underway, featuring the Toronto Marlies against the Chicago Wolves, with the Marlies aiming for their second Calder Cup title.
