Brendan Gallagher attended the Montreal Canadiens practice complex at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard on Tuesday, despite not putting on his skating equipment. Gallagher, who is reportedly on his way out of the Canadiens, observed prospects Ivan Demidov and Alexander Zharovsky during their practice session.

Alongside Gallagher, teammates Nick Suzuki, Phillip Danault, and Jacob Fowler were also present. According to TVA Sports Nicolas Cloutier, Gallagher's agent is satisfied with how the Canadiens have managed the veteran's situation this offseason.

With the Stanley Cup final concluded and the Carolina Hurricanes crowned champions, trade activities are picking up momentum, including a goalie swap between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Gallagher's agent previously indicated interest from the Vancouver Canucks in acquiring the veteran, but if a trade cannot be finalized, the Canadiens may consider a buyout. This strategy could be influenced by potential trade partners seeking excessive compensation to take on Gallagher's contract.

The Canadiens hope to trade Gallagher early in the offseason to address their team needs moving forward. If the Canucks, for instance, were to trade Elias Pettersson, Gallagher's contract could help them meet the cap floor.

Last season, Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes managed to offload Carey Price's contract with a fifth-round pick, showcasing his ability to navigate complex trade situations. Gallagher was seen in Brossard wearing a Canadiens t-shirt, signaling his ongoing connection to the team amidst uncertainty about his future.
