In Game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Minnesota Wild eliminated the Dallas Stars with a decisive 5-2 victory, advancing to the second round to face the Colorado Avalanche. Quinn Hughes was a standout for the Wild, scoring two goals, including the game-winner, after opening the scoring early in the first period.

The Stars initially took a 2-1 lead with goals from Wyatt Johnston and Mavrik Bourque, but Minnesota responded with a game-tying goal from Vladimir Tarasenko late in the second period. In the final moments, Matt Boldy added two empty-net goals to seal the victory.

The win not only advances the Wild but also serves as a redemption after their first-round exit last season. The Dallas Stars, despite a solid regular season, struggled in this series and will face offseason questions about their performance.

Jake Oettinger, the Stars' goaltender, received praise for his efforts, but the team ultimately fell short as they failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, leading to their elimination from the playoffs.

The Wild's performance, bolstered by their home crowd, demonstrated their resilience and readiness for a challenging matchup against the Avalanche, who swept the LA Kings in the first round.
