Milan Lucic announced his retirement from professional hockey on October 8, 2023, coinciding with his 38th birthday, after a 17-season career in the NHL. The forward, known for his toughness and skill, played for the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames.
Lucic was a key player for the Bruins during their 2011 Stanley Cup victory, where they triumphed in Game 7 against the Vancouver Canucks. He recorded 586 points, including 233 goals and 353 assists, across 1,177 regular-season games.
Lucic expressed gratitude for his career, especially thanking the Bruins for launching his professional journey. He had attempted a comeback in 2025-26 with the St. Louis Blues but played a brief stint in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds before retiring.
