The Los Angeles Kings have made significant moves in recent days to bolster their roster ahead of the new season. They signed forward Scott Laughton to a three-year contract worth $10.5 million, which carries a cap hit of $3.5 million.
Laughton, who scored 13 goals and recorded seven assists in 64 games last season, was acquired from Toronto during the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline and is expected to contribute both offensively and defensively.
Additionally, the Kings signed veteran defenseman Erik Gustafsson to a one-year contract, reinforcing their defensive capabilities. Gustafsson has a wealth of experience, having played 517 NHL games and is seen as a key addition to enhance the team's depth.
The Kings also added forward Mats Zuccarello on a one-year deal for $1 million, alongside Erik Haula, who joins on a two-year contract with an average annual value of $3.6 million. Zuccarello's scoring ability and experience, particularly on the power play, are expected to significantly strengthen the Kings' offensive lineup, while Haula brings proven two-way play and veteran leadership to the center position.
Overall, these signings reflect the Kings' strategic focus on developing a competitive roster as they prepare for the upcoming NHL season.
