Tributes pour in for Dennis Hull

Dennis Hull, the two-way NHL forward who played alongside his legendary brother Bobby Hull with the Chicago Blackhawks, has passed away at the age of 81. According to brother Garry Hull, Dennis died on Friday night.

His death was confirmed on social media by nephew Bart Hull, with the Chicago Blackhawks organization extending condolences through a statement from owner Danny Wirtz. Hull enjoyed a remarkable career, participating in 13 of his 14 NHL seasons with Chicago before concluding with a year at the Detroit Red Wings.

He was a five-time All-Star, earning recognition as a second-team NHL All-Star in the 1972-73 season. Notably, during the 1972 Summit Series, Hull contributed two goals and two assists in four games, playing alongside stars Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert.

Over his career, Dennis Hull recorded 303 goals and 351 assists, totaling 654 points in 959 regular-season NHL games, and added 67 points in 104 playoff games. His contributions to the Blackhawks and the sport of hockey are remembered fondly, with Wirtz highlighting Hull's skill, toughness, and the positive impact he had in the locker room.

Dennis Hull's passing follows that of Bobby Hull, who died in January 2023 at the age of 84.
