The Edmonton Oilers secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 1 of their playoff series, showcasing resilience by overcoming a two-goal deficit. Kasperi Kapanen netted the game-winner with 1:54 left in the third period, marking his second goal of the game, while Jason Dickinson also scored twice.
Leon Draisaitl made a significant impact in his return from injury, contributing two assists despite having missed 14 games prior. Connor Ingram made 24 saves for the Oilers, who had previously struggled in Game 1 matchups.
The Ducks, on the other hand, will be without Adam Henrique for Game 2 due to a lower-body injury sustained in Game 1. Henrique had minimal ice time in the opener before leaving the game early. Despite the loss, Ducks forward Troy Terry, who scored twice, expressed confidence in the team's ability to bounce back.
Game 2 is set for Wednesday night in Edmonton.
