Nestrasil shines at Blackhawks development camp

Vaclav Nestrasil is quickly elevating his status as one of the top prospects in the Chicago Blackhawks organization, particularly following his impressive showing at the recent development camp. General Manager Kyle Davidson praised Nestrasil's performance during exit interviews in April, highlighting his strong season at UMass and noting that he exceeded expectations with 31 points in 34 games as a freshman.

Assistant GM Mark Eaton echoed this sentiment at the camp, emphasizing Nestrasil's willingness to engage physically, stating, 'I love that power forward game from him.' At 6-6, Nestrasil is expected to develop further, which could enhance his skating as he grows physically.

He also had a strong performance at the World Juniors, tallying eight points in seven games for Czechia, and is expected to play a key role in the upcoming tournament. This summer, he is focusing on improving his shooting from distance to diversify his offensive game, as much of his scoring last season occurred near the net.

With the Hawks in a phase of transitioning from accumulating prospects to building an NHL roster, Nestrasil's potential makes him a valuable asset, possibly too valuable to trade, should the organization view him as a future top-six NHL player.
