The Eastern Conference Finals series between the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens is heating up, currently tied at 1-1. After a tough Game 1 where the Hurricanes were dominated, they bounced back in Game 2 with a thrilling overtime victory, thanks in large part to Nikolaj Ehlers, who scored two goals including the game-winner.

According to Canes Country, the Hurricanes showed significant improvement, dominating play and limiting the Canadiens' top line of Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky to just four shots combined.

They managed only 12 shots on goal, a stark drop from their playoff average of 24.9 shots per game. Daily Faceoff highlighted the importance of goaltending from Jakub Dobes for the Canadiens and suggested that both teams face challenges moving forward, especially the Canadiens who must capitalize on their home ice advantage.

The series shifts to the Bell Centre for Game 3, where the Canadiens have struggled, going just 2-4 at home during the playoffs. Cardiac Cane noted that historically, the Hurricanes have performed well in Montreal during the postseason, and they aim to regain home ice advantage by taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

With Frederik Andersen continuing as Carolina's netminder, the stakes are high as both teams vie for momentum in this competitive playoff series.
