Carolina Hurricanes fans celebrated their team's first Stanley Cup championship in 20 years with an estimated 150,000 attendees at a parade in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Coach Rod Brind'Amour, who captained the Hurricanes to their previous Cup in 2006, expressed his astonishment at the turnout, stating, "I'm in shock.

It doesn't happen very often, but I'm just kind of speechless," according to ESPN. The parade featured players on double-decker buses, with captain Jordan Staal hoisting the Stanley Cup high above the crowd, a moment reminiscent of their earlier victory.

Staal, who also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP, remarked on the vibrant atmosphere, saying he was overwhelmed by the support, noting, "I was still blown away. I couldn't even describe how amazing that was." The celebration also included a rally where fans engaged in the team's tradition by cranking the "Storm Warning" siren.

General Manager Eric Tulsky took the opportunity to sign forward Nicolas Deslauriers to a two-year, $1.75 million deal, solidifying part of the team's roster as they look forward to future success. This victory not only marks a significant achievement for the franchise but also symbolizes the resilience of both the team and its dedicated fanbase.

The previous parade in 2006 attracted around 30,000 fans, highlighting the growth of the Hurricanes' fan engagement and the excitement surrounding this championship run.
