The Carolina Hurricanes completed a first-round sweep of the Ottawa Senators with a 4-2 victory in Game 4 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs on April 25. This win marks the sixth consecutive year the Hurricanes have advanced to the second round.
Taylor Hall opened the scoring for Carolina, followed by Drake Batherson's equalizer for Ottawa. Logan Stankoven scored a crucial power-play goal in the third period, while Sebastian Aho added two empty-net goals to secure the win.
Frederik Andersen made 25 saves, allowing only five goals throughout the series. Despite the victory, the Hurricanes faced injury challenges, with Nikolaj Ehlers missing Game 4 due to a lower-body injury.
As a result of their strong performance, the Hurricanes have seen their odds of winning the Stanley Cup improve significantly, currently standing at +285, making them strong contenders in the playoffs.
