The Anaheim Ducks secured a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Nashville Predators, clinching their playoff spot and the third seed in the Pacific Division. Troy Terry scored the game-winning goal with 2:54 left on a power play, following a high-sticking penalty against Nashville's Tyson Jost.
Cutter Gauthier, Jackson LaCombe, Alex Killorn, and Tristan Luneau also contributed goals, while Mikael Granlund recorded three assists. This win marks the Ducks' return to the playoffs for the first time in eight years, setting them up for a challenging first-round matchup against the Edmonton Oilers, who secured second place in the Pacific Division.
The Ducks have seen breakout seasons from players like Leo Carlsson and Gauthier, with Gauthier hitting 41 goals this season. Additionally, Ducks GM Pat Verbeek received a multi-year extension, reflecting the organization’s confidence in his leadership as they aim to build on this success.
